Happy Women’s Day!

Hello everyone!

Well, we had another great week here in Binh Duong. I don't know where to start. Just quick note on the title, if you are in America, you might not even be aware, but last Friday apparently was international women's day. I don't remember much being done for it in America, but it seems to be a little bigger in Vietnam. At least the big Aeon mall had up decorations and sales for it. It was cool though, we got to wish some people a happy women's day and share some sort of spiritual thought on it. My personal favorite one is for mothers. This is in Alma 57:21.

21 Yea, and they did obey and observe to perform every word of command with exactness; yea, and even according to their faith it was done unto them; and I did remember the words which they said unto me that their mothers had taught them.

Mothers really have a special influence on their children, and help shape who they are. Also, if you want to read a funny story, in President Nelson's talk last conference, "Sisters' Participation in the Gathering of Israel", President Nelson tells a story where he had a Freudian slip and called himself a mother of ten. He also says he chose to be a doctor because he could not choose to be a mother. I am really grateful for my mother and all she has done for me!

Quick update on investigators. All of our investigators are still doing pretty well. We have recently been trying to get better at organizing our planning, so we now have our big whiteboard with a two-week schedule written out so we can make sure we try to meet everyone at least somewhere in a two week period. It helps us make sure we don't forget to schedule someone! And I am excited to say today we are visiting Em Vy's family! And tomorrow we are going to visit Em Nhu's family! We are really excited, and hope their families will be receptive to the message of the gospel. The gospel path is so much more enjoyable when you have your family with you (especially because they will be with you forever). And we did get several new investigators too! One of them was a really cool contact of Elder Quoc's. We were doing our weekly shopping last week, and sometimes missionaries aren't as inclined to contact on P Day. But we still try to do it. And Elder Quoc got to share about the Book of Mormon wiht a man named Anh Thanh. He was really interested and met us that week! And came to church! He is really cool, and we are excited for him to keep learning. We also met someone named Anh Danh. He really likes Jesus Christ, and loves to talk to us about faith. And with Em Vy and Em Nhu, they brought another one of their friends to church, Em Tran, and she is awesome too! So we are excited to meet with all of them! Also, we had eight investigators at church on Sunday! It is great to see them come and get to meet the other members and hear their testimonies! Oh, and we also visited Anh Hung and Chi Chi this week, and had a very nice dinner. And then we talked about the Book of Mormon and gave them a hard copy now. They said they would read it!

And that is one thing Elder Quoc and I have been focusing on lately is the Book of Mormon. In Preach My Gospel (the "guide book" for missionaries), we were reading about the importance of the Book of Mormon and how it can help us to resolve our concerns! Seriously if you will sincerely read the Book of Mormon, you will come to know your Savior, Jesus Christ, and what he wants you to do. You will find peace and direction in your life. And you will grow your faith and testimony in the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. So we know as our investigators read and ponder about the Book of Mormon, they will find the solutions they need in their lives, whatever their circumstances and concerns may be.

Well, I need to wrap things up now. But I want to share that I know the gospel of Jesus Christ is true. He lives and loves each one of us, and is willing to do anything to help us.

Until next week!

Elder Watson/ Nghiêm
